For some faith communities today is a special day dedicated to honoring the souls of deceased family members and friends. I love this tradition. Remembering and praying for those that have passed from this life brings me great comfort. It brings me close to those no longer physically by my side. It’s a reminder that love doesn’t end with death. It’s always there. In my heart I still hear the voices of my mother and my father. They are with me.
“The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.” – Lucius Annaeus Seneca
“For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.” – William Penn
“Is death the last sleep? No — it is the last and final awakening.” – Sir Walter Scott
“For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come!” – William Shakespeare
Light a candle and remember someone you love today. Maybe it will bring you a moment of special peace.
